What makes a job a great job? Obviously, different people will give different answers! What makes a great job opportunity is much easier to gauge. Based on the following criteria, the Brava Team has elected on the following “fast forward” careers for 2008. This list will be revised quarterly.

  • How much do you get paid?
  • What kind of professional development opportunities are available?
  • How much room for innovation does a role offer?

Sales Managers

Why the job is hot: Salespeople are important. But a sales force isn't going to manage itself, so most companies need at least one sales manager to set goals, organize training, and assign sales territories. They keep tabs on who is selling well, what is selling, who is buying -- and who isn't. Depending on where they are in their company, sales managers can work with end-users, dealers and distributors. As medical global markets continue to open and create more product competition, job growth looks strong, as does salary growth. The required education levels will creep up as more workers vie for these well paying jobs. The average salary being about $150,000.

Capital Equipment Sales Professionals

Why the job is hot: Sales professional are the “life blood” of any commercial company. Companies are currently demanding polished individuals who are ethically minded, and who understand business. These professionals are required to meet monthly quotas, establish strong networks and thoroughly understand the features and benefits of their products. Average income is about $130,000.

Commerical Clinical Applications Specialists

Why the job is hot: As medical companies continue to grow they require the Clinical Specialist to introduce their products to their customer through training and education. The Clinical Specialist works hand-in-hand with sales and other specialists to assist in product training and ongoing sales and marketing efforts. Typically, these commercial Specialists earn more than their clinical counterpart averaging about $86,000.

Registered Professionals for Xray, MRI, PET, CT, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound Are Specializing

Once vague, specialities such as Musculoskeletal, Surgery, Interventional, Anorectal, Vein Imaging, are now on the forefront and for Ultrasonographers and Radiographers who specialize in these applications, these trends are sizzling. In defense of the commerical companies, on the jobs training is enormously expensive.  Extreme specialization is now being called for. 

 

Why these jobs are hot: Once limited to bulky equipment and rays of energy, radiology and ultrasound have expanded in the digital age -- and so have its specialties.  ALL these "speciality" opportunities are "Ultra"  hot!
